What If Women in Real Estate Chose Unity Over Competition?

June 01, 2026•2 min read

The Industry Runs on Highlight Reels — But That's Not What We Actually Need

A while back, I sent a vulnerable email to my community. I shared my anxieties, my fears, and the heavy things I was carrying. I wasn't sure what would happen.

What came back stopped me in my tracks.

I received hundreds of replies from women sharing their own stories — postpartum depression, anxiety, burnout, grief, emergency medical situations, breastfeeding struggles, seasons where they felt completely lost. Not surface-level responses. Real, raw, honest stories from women who trusted me enough to tell the truth.

And it reminded me of something this industry desperately needs to hear.

The Highlight Reel Problem

Real estate can feel cutthroat. Every day we see the highlight reels — closings, rankings, awards, "just signed another buyer" posts. If we're not careful, comparison sneaks in and convinces us that everyone else is doing better, moving faster, and handling it all with ease.

But behind those posts? There are women quietly carrying heavy things while still showing up the best they can. Women who are exhausted but won't say it. Women who feel behind but won't admit it. Women who need encouragement but don't know where to find it.

When we strip away the numbers and the noise, there's so much more underneath the surface.

What Would Happen If We Led With Unity?

Imagine what this industry would look like if instead of competing, we checked on each other. If instead of comparing, we encouraged. If we allowed room for ambition and rest to exist at the same time.

I know that's a big ask in a commission-based business. We're wired to see other agents as competition. But the agents who build the longest, most sustainable careers aren't the ones who white-knuckle their way to the top alone. They're the ones who surround themselves with people who genuinely want to see them win.

Community isn't a weakness. It's a competitive advantage.

Building a Space That Feels Different

One of the things I care most about is creating a space where you don't have to pretend you have it all together. A place where you can grow your business without sacrificing your humanity. Where agents support each other through every season — not just the wins, but the messy middle too.

Because we are all doing our best. And we were never meant to do this alone.

If you're reading this and you've been carrying something heavy while trying to keep up appearances — I see you. You're not behind. You're not failing. You're human.

And the bravest thing you can do is let someone in.
