You Don't Have to Be Perfect at Both to Be Great at Both
An Honest Conversation About Motherhood, Real Estate, and the Grace You Owe Yourself
One of the most common questions I get in my DMs is: "How do you juggle motherhood and real estate?"
And the honest answer is... I don't always juggle it perfectly.
Some weeks I feel like I'm really showing up in my business. Clients, closings, content — all the things. Other weeks, my kids need more of me and my business takes a back seat. It's always an ebb and flow.
And if I'm being really transparent, some of that ebb and flow is tied to my cycle, my energy levels, and the season of life I'm in. That's not a weakness. That's just being human.
The Myth of Perfect Balance
I think a lot of women in this industry believe they're supposed to have this flawless balance where everything runs smoothly all the time. The house is clean, the kids are happy, the business is growing, and somehow you have it all figured out.
Let me just tell you — that's not real life.
Real life looks like seasons. There are seasons where your career needs more of you. There are seasons where your family needs more of you. And most of the time, you're somewhere in the middle just doing your best.
Some days I feel great at both. Some days I'm definitely not. Hello, mom guilt.
The One Thing That Actually Helps
If I've learned anything from building a multi-million-dollar real estate business while raising three kids, it's that the most important thing you can give yourself is grace.
Grace for the season you're in. Grace for the messy days. Grace when things don't go exactly how you planned.
You don't have to do everything perfectly to build a great business and be a great mom. You just have to keep showing up.
What I Swear By: Time Blocking
Here's the practical side. Consistency will always outperform perfection. And the single tool that has changed my life more than anything else is time blocking.
When I'm in "mom mode," I'm fully present. When I'm in "work mode," I'm locked in. The boundaries aren't always clean, but having a structure means I'm not spending my entire day feeling guilty about whichever role I'm not filling in that moment.
Focus on what needs your attention most at any given time. Give yourself permission to not do it all at once. And remember — showing up consistently, even imperfectly, will always beat burning out trying to be everything to everyone.
You're Doing Better Than You Think
If you're a mom in real estate reading this and feeling like you're falling short somewhere — hear me when I say this: you're not.
The fact that you care this much means you're already doing a better job than you're giving yourself credit for.
Stay the course. Give yourself grace. And know that the season you're in right now is building something beautiful — even if you can't see it yet.
